Initially, Javier and María Eugenia did not have in mind a specific style for this House, being rather a construction project which was born on the spot: Oaks and pines to the overclocking enthusiasts, as well as the steep slope of the land led to the final result. Their main concern was sustainability, in terms of location, natural light, ventilation and wastewater collection for irrigation. Another feature of the House is its timeless character. As I say those two architects, «this House I conquers by the use of natural materials, such as stone and wood. Our desire was, firstly, to create a home, a place to feel at home with the three children of our wonderful, but at the same time we have a workshop, a place where we perform our part of our professional activities. All of these requirements, plus a certain preference for spatial complexity with multiple buildings and places of interest, gave the outline of this project. ” And what inspired him was the place itself, understood and interpreted as a space opportunity where anything is possible. «We view the space as a magnificent white sheet, where all our interventions are connected through an intense experience. Silhouettes of trees, spectacular sunsets, oak trees and pine trees on the horizon … all these elements are integrated into the proposed structure and gives it meaning. » The House has a multitude of different areas, designed to interact with each other, and the result is a living space and fluid. The Living room is like a huge Sundial and visually connect all parts of the House: a large kitchen (open and inward and outward) with views onto the garden (basking in the Sun all morning), dining room (connected with swimming pool, sunny at noon) and middle area, where the owners are reading and listening to music (which soak up the sunshine in the afternoon). All these spaces are connected, what creates the feeling of spatial unit in the entire House.
